Driving music

Today I had to use the car of my aunt, with a very old, crappy, one channel radio. Still, music adict as I am I turn it on to end up with just sports talk rubish. Probably because i'm allergic to silence I left it on and just when I'm getting sick of these morons talking about soccer, this super funky song comes on: Paolo Nutini with New shoes

It is the type of driving song that makes you lay back and enjoy the road ahead. The lyrics are absolute jiberish though; Paolo is talking about the great effects of having new shoes, but damn it's funky. This song makes you want to keep on driving into the night and forget about lifes worries. Well I didn't because I had to get the car back to my aunts, but I did race ehm... to the cd store to get the rest of the album: these streets. It does have a bit of the same feel as James Blunt's album that I only recently managed to get out of my head. Mostly sad lovesongs, which is nice, although I would have liked some more of that shoe funk. Still no reason to stick to the single in my point of view though, I will buy whis album. (No of course I didn't yet, I need to hear it first)

I never heard of the young Paolo from Scotland but looking into him a bit it seems that he has been busy for quit a while. Already popular in the UK this album is suposed to be his big break in Europe; lets hope it wont be. Let's hope this guy keeps on making good music without the glitter and hearing songs every 5 minutes until it makes you puke. Oh well at least he's not an American talking about smacking his bitch in the club.
