Sex education

Found this videopodcast of The Midwest teen sex show which is basically a very funny way of giving sex education. Homosexuality, the first time, the older boyfriend and lots of other subjects appeal will be thrown out in the open on these short, but effective, movies. And not just for teens either! More info and nonsense you find on their website.

Videopodcasting

I never fancied the thought of Video podcasts much. Thought they were a collection of amateur clips of somebody filming himself falling flat out in a hundred different positions and other stupid shit that is too lame to make it on TV (like nowadays anything isFoot in mouth) Sort of the worst of youtube. After looking into things (I don't usually do that before judging) I thought there are some things worth taking a look at. If you are looking for something specific you can go to an obvious named website like podcastdirectory and look around, or just google for "cool podcasts" or something. I will post some interesting ones if I come across something specific.

What's a Podcast?

We all know mp3's as being the little file that represents the audiotrack from the CD on our pc's. Lots of Mp3's can be organised by programs like Itunes or winamp. A podcast is basically nothing more than an mp3 although it tends not to be limited to just songs. Primarilly they are used for transmitting radioshows, news or documentaries. The advantage is that the emmision gets downloaded and can be listened to afterwards, even in places where you don't have an internet connection. This means that it can also be copied to your Ipod.

Let's say that we like show ABC on channel XYZ. We'll surf to the website of channel XYZ to find more information on show ABC. This show happens to have emmisions by podcasts. For this the website will supply us with a podcast feed which is basically the same as a link. Instead of starting with http: it will start with feed: . This link you can copy to a mp3 playing program that allows podcasts, like itunes. In Itunes this is done by the  menu advanced>subscribe to podcast... which will take you to a window where you copy the link.

From this moment Itunes will download the latest emmision of your favorite program and show you when new ones arrived. When you attach an Ipod you can tell itunes to transfer some emmisions to the Ipod so you can listen to them on the way to work.
